ITALIAN BEES
Apis Mellifera Ligustica
Italian bees are known for their gentleness, comb-building and beautiful white cappings that are highly sought after in candle-making. Their sense of direction is not as good as some other species, so we have painted the hives with different colours to help them make their way home.
CAUCASIAN BEES
Apis Mellifera Caucasica
Caucasian bees are originally from the Caucasus region of Georgia, Eastern Europe. These bees are gentle and produce strong colonies, reaching their maximum colony size later in the season than the Italian bees.
